The barbed wire was a bit of a challenge, one of those things that seems simple until you actually start searching for it, something that was the proper scale and flexible enough to be shaped as I needed it to be. I wound up making my own and then glazing it to the right color.
This is the sketchbook drawing I worked from. Although it looks rough it’s pretty close to the finished work and certainly worked to keep the idea fresh in my mind.
The piece stands on a short length of metal rod so it can be removed from the base and wrapped for secure shipping.
